About Me

My name is Tiffany Gray and I am a First-Year Graduate Student at California State University, Northridge. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University in 2005, but have since trained and worked as a Pilates Instructor for the past 6 years.

My areas of interest to study as a graduate student include Shakespeare and Renaissance writers, Medieval literature and the development of the English Theatre, and the writings and rhetoric of major political figures of the Medieval and Renaissance time periods and how their words came to affect and/or inspire the major writers of the time. All of these areas of focus are a far cry from the Post Modern/Colonial works of J.M. Coetzee, but I am using this experience as an opportunity to broaden my horizons as a literary scholar. I'm finding it particularly interesting to compare Shakespeare's vision of colonizing (as presented in The Tempest) to how events have transpired and played in in the post-colonial era.

Beyond my love of reading, writing, and research, I am also a wife to a wonderful engineer and we have a 3 year old son and another baby boy due in February.
